"The Nadara project was a complex project, however each part of the team both client side and ThinkShare side worked diligently to see that problems were overcome and solutions delivered efficiently. We are delighted to have been able to deliver this intranet for Nadara and excited to see the next stages of this developing intranet."
Background
Nadara are one of Europe’s largest renewable energy independent power producers. We own and operate around 200 renewable energy sites across Europe and the US, producing electricity from wind, solar, waste-to-energy, and biomass.
We previously worked with Ventient Energy and built their Valo intranet. Their intranet allowed them to feel better aligned with their business and paid dividends in the relationships and shared purpose of their distributed teams.
Nadara were now combining Renatis and Ventient Energy and combined with the Valo product expiring, they needed a new intranet. Nadara conducted a detailed analysis of the various intranet products available and chose LiveTiles which we presented to them.
LiveTiles was selected due to it’s advanced features and customisation as well as the mobile app which could be accessed by their remote workers.
The Process
As with all intranet projects, we started with a Discovery Workshop to understand the needs of all users internationally. Not all users knew what they wanted and needed from an intranet so some education was required to demonstrate what could be achieved through a successful intranet.
Through this process we also did a detailed requirements gathering and MOSCOW Framework to understand what needs, features and additional customisation they required as part of the initial launch of the intranet.
Nadara were very clear as to what look and feel they wanted from their intranet and had selected the colours and tones from their brand guidelines which allowed for an easy design process.
Due to time pressures on this project, we supported the Nadara team with the build of many of their pages. It was a strategic prioirty to get the intranet built by the end of the year so we were happy to support Nadara in this way. Once templates were established, content was provided by Nadara and our team were able to quickly deliver the agreed pages.
WorkDay Vacancies Feed
One additional element to the build of this intranet was the requirement to have the WorkDay Vacancies Feed. For this integration we required collaboration between WorkDay to set-up a daily request going to a webhook URL set-up within Power Automate.
This required us to work closely with the WorkDay and Nadara IT teams to build and test the solution to ensure it worked as intended. The final solution has allowed for vacancies to be displayed within the intranet so users do not have to visit the WorkDay site to view latest vacancies. When a user is ready to apply, they can do so directly from the intranet resulting in a smoother user journey.
Following the completed build, the intranet was then pushed live before the inperson kick off event Nadara held to celebrate their new intranet. The users were able to access the intranet on that day and the team ran sessions to explain how to find the information they needed on the intranet which also then helped adoption of the intranet as part of users ever day.
Project Outcomes
The new intranet has been positively received by staff as it accessible by all employees both desktop and mobile users. Everyone can now view the latest news and updates, access correct document versions and feel more connected to the organisation.
This is the first stage of the project and there are further phases to come with additional customisations, bespoke to the needs of Nadara. An employee survey was conducted to present various options and considerations to users to allow the organisation to prioritise this work.
