Azure app modernisation

Legacy applications moved and rebuilt on Azure.

We help UK enterprises assess, plan and modernise legacy applications on Microsoft Azure, from lift and shift moves to full re-platforming and re-architecting. Old and new run side by side until you are confident, so there is always a way back.

What we do

Modernisation services across Azure and Power Platform.

Every application is assessed against Microsoft's 6Rs: rehost, replatform, refactor, rearchitect, rebuild or retire. The right path depends on business value, technical complexity, integration dependencies and the architecture you are aiming for.

App modernisation

Rebuild business apps in Power Platform or Dynamics 365 where low code fits.

How we work

How a modernisation project runs.

01

Discovery

We assess each application and map every integration, then choose a path from the 6Rs based on value, complexity and dependencies.
02

Design

Target architecture on Azure, including whether each integration is kept, modernised with API Management or Logic Apps, or replaced.
03

Build

Phased migration using blue green deployments and feature flags, with old and new systems running in parallel.
04

Train

Training for your IT and development teams on running and supporting the modernised applications.
05

Go live

Traffic moves to the new system with rollback options kept until you are confident, then the old system is retired.

Client feedback

What it is like to work with us.

“The migration went very smoothly, and our new intranet ensures our data is secure and easily accessible.”

George IrvineHead of IT, CitNOW

“Their approach to understanding our organisation, values, goals and challenges, helped them deliver on our brief with excellent communications and support throughout.”

Case studies

Case studies we have delivered.

From a file server to the cloud

Praxis moved from an on premises file server to Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, with data cleansed and reorganised on the way and simpler permissions for a hybrid workforce.

A smooth data migration

CitNOW's data was migrated from its old setup into SharePoint so dispersed teams can find and co-author work, and the migration went smoothly.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How do you decide which modernisation path to take?

We use Microsoft's 6Rs (rehost, replatform, refactor, rearchitect, rebuild, retire) to evaluate each application, based on business value, technical complexity, integration dependencies and your target architecture.

Can you modernise applications built on non-Microsoft technology?

Yes. We modernise applications built on Java, .NET Framework, PHP, classic ASP and other stacks, since Azure supports mixed environments.

How do you keep disruption to a minimum?

Phased migration, blue green deployments and feature flags, with old and new systems running in parallel and rollback options kept until you are confident.

What happens to integrations with other systems?

We map every integration during discovery and decide whether to keep the existing interface, modernise it with Azure API Management or Logic Apps, or replace it.
