Valo Intranet Replacement: Your Options After End of Life

8 April 2025 · By Jordan

Valo Intranet reached end of life on 31 July 2025. Staffbase, which bought Valo Solutions in 2021, stopped development and support on that date. If you hold a perpetual licence, Valo will keep running for now, but there are no more updates, no fixes and nobody to call when a Microsoft 365 change breaks something, so it is time to plan the move.

What happens if you keep running Valo?

Valo sits on top of SharePoint Online, which Microsoft changes every month. With no vendor patching the product, each of those changes is a risk to your web parts, navigation and news, and the risk grows the longer it is left. We would choose the replacement now rather than wait for something to break and have to move in a hurry.

What are the options for replacing Valo?

We take Valo customers down one of three routes, and the right one depends on how much of what Valo gave you is actually used.

  • Omnia. An intranet product built on SharePoint with its own interface, strong on targeted news, communication governance and multilingual content. It suits larger organisations with a central comms team publishing to different audiences.
  • Involv. A ready built intranet that runs inside your own Microsoft 365 tenant, with over 50 components, a mobile app and 8 languages. It suits organisations that liked having a product with templates rather than a bespoke build.
  • A SharePoint intranet in a box. Our pre-built SharePoint intranet, from £12,500 for up to 100 users and £17,500 for up to 500, built in standard SharePoint and ready to launch in weeks.

Can we keep our existing content?

Yes. Valo stores its pages, news and documents in SharePoint, so the content is already in your tenant. The work in a migration is rebuilding the pages in the new layouts, bringing news across, redoing the navigation and tidying up anything that should not come with you.

How long does a Valo migration take?

The pre-built SharePoint intranet goes live in weeks. For Omnia and Involv it depends mainly on how many sites and how much content you are bringing across, so we scope it once we have looked at your tenant. Our intranet migration page covers how we run these projects.
